Through a matching gift, you can maximize your impact and secure your Texas A&M legacy without breaking your budget.

Whether you choose to contribute money or time to the areas you care about in Aggieland, there might be a matching option available to increase your support.

Michelle ’88 and Todd Steudtner ’87 used matching funds from PepsiCo and Texas Instruments to create endowed scholarships for students in the College of Engineering and Mays Business School.

Monetary Matching

You may be able to double, triple or quadruple the amount of your gift by taking advantage of a corporate matching program. During fiscal year 2023, companies matched 1,468 gifts to the Texas A&M Foundation for a total of more than $2 million.

Through gift matching programs, you can add value to your next gift without reducing your assets and still receive a charitable deduction for your personal contribution.

Many employers match donations made by their employees to a wide variety of nonprofits, and several companies also offer retirees and widows of employees the same matching gift opportunities they offer current employees.

If your employer offers to match your donation, follow their gift matching process, which may include filling out a form or an online application.

To inspire future donors to realize their greater giving potential, you may also earmark a portion of your own gift as matching funds for future donations from others.

If your employer is not listed above, please reach out to your HR department to inquire about your company's matching program.

Additionally, if you work for a large company like ExxonMobil or PricewaterhouseCoopers, be on the lookout for collaborative giving initiatives within the organization. Many companies initiate their own matching gift campaigns for Texas A&M.

You can give a gift via check, cash, credit card or publicly traded securities to be matched, and your gift along with the matching gift can support the area or program of your choice at Texas A&M. Like other gifts, you will still receive a charitable deduction for your personal contribution, but not the match.

Volunteer Matching

If you volunteer at Texas A&M, you could further support your passion by utilizing a company volunteer matching grant. These corporate giving programs provide monetary grants, usually between $8-$15 per hour volunteered, to organizations where employees regularly volunteer.

Approximately 85% of top matching gift companies also offer volunteer grant programs, and many provide matching for individual employees or a team. These programs are an easy way to turn your time and effort into tangible funds for the causes you care about.

You can search your employer in our Double the Donation online database to determine if you are eligible to receive a volunteer grant. You can then apply through the database, and your employer will donate the match to the Texas A&M Foundation to support the area you volunteered with.
